What is Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojana?: Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojana launched by narendra Modi, it is a scheme to provide gas connection and cylinders to the poor and below poverty line families. This scheme was implemented in 2016. Now Ujjwala 2.0 project is in progress. In the first phase of Ujwala Yojana from 2016 to 2019, the central government has provided 8 crore cooking gas connections. Under this scheme, implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, poor families will be provided gas connection quickly. If earlier you had to wait 10 days to get contact, now it is given instantly. Under the Ujjwala scheme, the first family to get gas connection is given free connection and free gas stove. After that, a total subsidy of Rs 400 per cylinder will be given. Gas connection and cylinder are provided to the eligible under Ujwala scheme even if they live in a rented house.
Only women are eligible to get gas connection and cylinder under Ujwala Yojana. Under the Ujwara scheme, gas connection is provided to women below the poverty line. Female must be at least 18 years old. There should be no other gas connection in the Ujwala Yojana beneficiary family. Aadhaar card, identity card of applicant woman is mandatory. Should have below poverty line ration card (BPL Card) issued by the respective state government. Applicants must provide Aadhaar card, ration card document and bank account details while applying.
A woman who wants to get a new gas connection under Ujjwala Yojana can apply in two ways. The application can be submitted online as well as by filling the downloaded application form and submitting it to the nearest gas agency.
