Telangana Generic medical stores to be opened in PACS
They are anticipated to meet the pharmacy demands of rural poor people suffering from ailments including cancer, high blood pressure, and diabetes among others, even if the regulations for the generic medical stores have not yet been finalised. Currently, PACS provides seeds, fertiliser, and insecticides to farmers in addition to authorising short- and long-term loans through the district Cooperative Central Bank. Some of the organisations who have built godowns are renting them out to keep agricultural goods in storage.
Despite the fact that some of the organisations had successfully run petrol bunks, they had to shut down when the central government ceased providing discounted gasoline to large users. The establishment of generic drug stores will begin as a trial programme in a select number of PACS that are already successfully managing financial, agricultural, and related operations. Later, they will be gradually opened in all communities, according to officials. Each district has four societies that were chosen. Choppadandi, Huzurabad, Jammikunta, and karimnagar societies are chosen in karimnagar, according to sources. The former karimnagar district included 128 PACSs. While 1700 personnel are employed, 95,726 farmers are members of organisations.
