India Smart Cities Award: Indore ranks first in Smart City

On friday (August 25), indore won the best & National Smart City Award followed by surat and Agra. The

Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on friday announced the india Smart City Awards for 2022.

The awards will be presented by President draupadi murmu at a function in indore on 27 September

(Wednesday). Out of 66 winners in various categories, madhya pradesh won the best 'State Award' and Tamil

Nadu secured the second position. rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh shared the third position.


indore became number one in 100 cities

Chandigarh has been ranked number one in the Union Territories category. According to the ministry, it has also

emerged as the winner in the Best Governance category for its e-governance services. Among the 100 cities

being developed under the Smart City Mission of the Modi government, indore got the top spot, followed by

surat in gujarat and agra at the third spot.

'This is how we achieved'

Public representatives of indore Municipal Corporation celebrated by bursting fireworks and feeding sweets at

Rajwada. indore MP shankar Lalwani and indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava participated in this celebration.

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava said that we have achieved this because of the hard work of the officers, people’s participation and above all the political will of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the local

representatives working in coordination with the people. The mayor also said that it is a moment of pride to

receive this award from President draupadi murmu at the Smart City Conclave to be held in indore on

September 27 this year.
