Chess world cup finalist Magnus Carsell has hailed Pragnananda as a monster mentality. R Pragnananda from chennai shocked everyone by losing in the tiebreaker round of the Chess world cup Final. But India's R Pragnananda has shown the world that he should be at the top of chess for many years to come in the last 3 days at the Chess world cup Final.

The 18-year-old has continued to dazzle the biggest names in global chess, en route to a World Chess world cup title clash with world No. 1 Magnus Carlsen. The indian youngster lost his fight against the five-time world championship winner, but not before taking the match to tie-breakers. Although Carlson beat Pragnananda, he gave him a new tag to be proud of. Speaking after the win, Karlsson said that it was a bit funny that he data-faced almost zero players at the start. He played Suki (Vasyl Ivanchuk) and then he ran into three young guys. So, yes, obviously they are very strong. He felt he had his best game.  Otherwise, the match would have been very difficult, said Carlson, as for the others, they were very strong.

And, "Everyone is very good, Gukesh is a very strong classical player now. Then, you have Brag and (Nodirbek) Abdusatorov who are very strong, but what he thinks is very clear is that chess is in good hands for the future. The generation of players born from 1990-1994 is really long and has been dominating over time, and finally, now these young people are born. In 2003 and beyond, we have a generation that deserves to come after us."

However, Pragnananda had to finish as the runner-up of the 2023 FIDE world cup, but he will gain confidence by having qualified for the FIDE Candidates Tournament. The 2024 Candidates Tournament is an eight-player chess tournament from 2 april 2024 to 25 april 2024 in Toronto, Canada. The winner of the tournament will challenge for the 2024 World Chess Championship. Notably, Pragnananda had an excellent tournament where he defeated world No. 2 Hikaru Nakamura in a tie-breaker while defeating world No. 3 Fabiano Caruana to reach the final.
