Chief Minister Nitish Kumar did an aerial survey of many districts
chief minister Nitish Kumar on saturday took stock of the situation by conducting an aerial survey of various
blocks of Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Jamui and Nalanda districts affected by scanty rainfall. During
this, the chief minister also gave necessary guidelines to the officers. During the survey, the Chief Minister
instructed the officials to keep a close watch on the situation arising due to scanty rainfall. Under the diesel Grant
Scheme, assistance is being given to farmers in the form of diesel grant for irrigation, all the needy farmers should
be given its benefit fast so that they can get relief. Continue uninterrupted power supply to farmers for 16 hours.
Officials apprised the chief minister about the situation
The chief minister instructed the officials to get updated information about the status of paddy planting due to
scanty rainfall. Secretary, Agriculture Department informed the chief minister that free maize seeds have been
distributed among the farmers for alternative crop in the districts with low rainfall. The chief minister directed to
ensure the availability of sufficient seeds to provide free seeds to interested farmers under the accidental crop
scheme.
Many officers were present
At the same time, during the aerial survey, Water Resources minister Sanjay Kumar Jha, Principal Secretary to
chief minister Dr. S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary of Disaster Management Department, Pratyay Amrit and
many officers were present. At the same time, tell that the state government has given great relief to the farmers
regarding the drought. It has been decided to give subsidy to the farmers on diesel for irrigation of other kharif crops
including paddy. Actually, this decision was taken by the government in view of the situation like irregular monsoon
and drought.
