Andhra cm to discuss students' deportation from US...

According to an official on Saturday, chief minister Y S jagan Mohan reddy has chosen to raise the matter with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in order to find a resolution following the deportation of some andhra pradesh students from the US. According to reports, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) federal law enforcement officials recently deported an unspecified number of students from the southern state from American airports upon landing.

Without going into specifics, a representative of the state-government body andhra pradesh Non-Resident telugu Society (APNRTS) said, "Reddy is investigating the matter and is going to forward it to the Ministry of External Affairs of the government of india to resolve it as soon as possible, as all students have valid USA visas for higher education."

The andhra pradesh government has urged CBP officials to consider allowing the students entry even though they had valid visas.

The state government issued a warning, urging the students to be ready to respond to any inquiries from American officials and to bring all necessary financial documentation, as well as to understand non-immigrant visa regulations and familiarise themselves with their university and course. The APNRTS, which also serves as a specialised organisation for the admission and counselling process for overseas education, has shared its helpline numbers in an appeal to deported students to get in touch with it.
