Assembly elections can be held in Maharashtra in December?
Senior congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar on saturday claimed that assembly elections in maharashtra will be held
in december this year ahead of the lok sabha elections to be held in mid-2024.
Earlier, the assembly elections in maharashtra were held in october 2019. Addressing a press conference here, the
Leader of the Opposition alleged that the ruling bharatiya janata party was making changes in forest laws to
benefit industrialists close to it.
He also claimed that the bjp would increase communal tension for its own benefit in the 2024 general elections.
Wadettiwar claimed that the party needed a player like a t20 cricketer to win elections in a short span of time, so
he was chosen for the post. Vadettiwar is the only congress leader in the state who has been made the leader of
the Opposition for the second time.
Third government in five years.
After the elections in the year 2019, ncp leader ajit pawar and bharatiya janata party leader and then CM
Devendra fadnavis were sworn in as deputy cm and cm respectively. However, after that the government fell
and the Mahavikas Aghadi, a coalition of congress, shiv sena and ncp, formed the government and Uddhav
Thackeray became the head of that government.
However, in the year 2022, the government fell. uddhav thackeray resigned after the rebellion of Eknath Shinde
in Shiv Sena. Then Eknath Shinde became cm and devendra fadnavis took oath as Deputy CM. After this, in the
month of July 2023, there were two factions in ncp and ajit pawar joined the alliance of Shinde faction and BJP.
He also took oath as deputy cm and along with him some MLAs took oath as ministers.
