Teacher promoted to the post of Deputy Principal-letter sent to LG

Delhi government Teachers: In the last year 2018 and 2019, a total of 873 PGT teachers were promoted to the post of

Deputy Principal in the government schools of Delhi. During this, a condition was placed by the delhi education Directorate

that these teachers would be promoted for 6 months, or until this post is filled on a regular basis. However, these teachers

have been working on contract continuously for the past years and they have not been regularized yet. Whereas even after

lapse of 6 months, the order for the next contract period has not been issued.

In this matter, a letter has also been written by the teachers to delhi Lieutenant governor Vinay Kumar Saxena. Accusing

the delhi education Directorate of negligence, the deputy principal posted on contract said, 'Our future is in trouble. Delhi

Directorate of education issued an order in the year 2018 and in 2019, 628 teachers were appointed on contract for the

post of Deputy Principal for 6 months and in 2019, they are still reducing all 873 teachers on contractual basis. not

regularised.

According to government rules, after promotion, teachers can work on contract only for a fixed period. This is a very

said that after the decision in the year 2018, we were promoted to the post of Deputy Principal for 6 months, but till date


we could not become regular. Even no official order has been issued by the Directorate of education to extend the tenure

of the contract.
