Manipur police lodges FIR against assam jawans..!?

The communal fighting between the Maitei and Kuki communities in Manipur has now reached between the paramilitary forces and the Manipur Police. The Manipur police has registered a case under several sections including obstructing the work of assam Rifles jawans. assam Rifles jawans are accused of blocking the way of the Manipur police who were going to arrest the murder accused and did not let the killers be arrested. The FIR registered three days ago has been made public by the police on august 8. The case is related to Bishnupur violence.


Three people were killed during the violence in Manipur's Bishnupur district. The police was going to arrest the accused in this murder case. According to the police FIR, the police were on their way to the Qutub Wali Masjid in Kwakta Ward 8 along Pholjang Road in Bishnupur. assam Rifles jawans stopped the police teams there. It is alleged that 9 jawans of assam Rifles parked the Casper vehicle in the middle of Kwakta Pholjang Road. police teams could not go further. A video of this also allegedly went viral when the assam Rifles jawans were holding back the Manipur police team.


Violence broke out between Maitei and Kuki communities in Vishnupur on friday night, 4 August. Three people were killed in this violence. Houses of people from both communities were also burnt. The violence took place in Kwakta area of the district. The deceased was reportedly from the Maitei community. In this violence, the houses of the Kuki community were also set on fire. Vishnupur police informed that three people from Maithei community have been killed. Many houses of the Kuki community have also been burnt. police sources said that some people had crossed the buffer zone and came to Maitei area and opened fire. A buffer zone is created between the Matei and Kuki populations. It is monitored by central forces. There is a two kilometer long buffer zone in Kwakta area of Vishnupur district.
