Special Status for Andhra Pradesh..!?
The
government of
puducherry (formerly Pondicherry) has taken a proactive decision. The state, which is currently a union territory, has an assembly. Moreover...
elections are also held every five years. Democratic governments are also formed. But, what is the use... Sometime after the end of
british rule.. this state along with all the states (including all Union Territories) could not be a part of the
government of India. It was later merged. There is an argument that the Center itself is doing the digging here. Due to this, the
people of
puducherry have been demanding statehood for decades. Twice in every five years... seeking statehood.. the
assembly passes a resolution and sends it to the center. The Center is not accepting it. However.. without persistence.. efforts are going on.
Recently, the
cm Rangaswamy
government also passed a resolution in the
assembly and sent it to the center with the approval of the governor. The smallest union territory is fighting for its rights.. for its status.. what happened to AP? The question came up. The ten-year grace period for the state bifurcation act will expire next June. That is.. after that.. it is equal to Chittu Kaityam. And in the meantime.. even if a resolution is passed in the
assembly on the issues of the Partition Act.. we should send it to the Center.. and try to achieve it, right? is the question. Similarly, even though it was not included in the Partition Act.. then
prime minister Manmohan Singh mentioned the matter of special status in the Parliament... Darimila promised.. the
ap government also took this matter seriously and repeatedly passed resolutions giving priority to the sentiments of the
people of the state.. the center's attention Shouldn't I hear it again? is the contention of the democrats. But the
ap government did not pay attention to the order. Moreover.. the division of districts which
cm Jagan and his
government consider prestigious.. the formation of new districts.. has not been given an official seal till now. It has to be approved by the President. But, that is still not the case. And even though the
government says that it is implementing the Disha Act, it does not have permission from the Centre. And now.. in addition to these, the democrats are suggesting doing good to the state by taking the key points of the Partition Act as a priority.. by passing a resolution again and again.
