TSRTC Bill is awaiting approval from the Governor...?

In response to widespread TSRTC employee demonstrations, governor Tamilisai Soudararajan informed union leaders on Saturday, august 5, that she would approve the Bill to add the workers to the government rolls as soon as she got answers to the questions she had about the legislation's proposed provisions.

The governor, who had previously asked the state government five questions to which the chief secretary responded in detail, again asked for clarifications on the draught Bill on Saturday. According to a raj bhavan statement, the Governor's questions were based on Soudararajan's interactions with the staff and memoranda they had given him regarding the proposed Bill.

On Wednesday, august 2, the BRS administration addressed the governor a letter requesting her consent to table the TSRTC (Absorption of Employees into administration Service) Bill, 2023, in the assembly within the assembly's limited, three-day session, which ended on Saturday. TSRTC employees protested over the governor's refusal to grant their request across the state, with those in hyderabad organising a march to the governor's official residence, the raj Bhavan. On July 31, the telangana Cabinet voted to add 43,373 TSRTC staff to the government payroll.
