Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister KT Rama Rao stated on friday that the charminar Pedestrianisation Project (CPP) would be finished by the end of 2024 and that efforts would be increased to secure the UNESCO World heritage City tag for Hyderabad. He also announced that Rs. 100 crore would be released for the project immediately through the hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
The minister expressed regret for the delay in the CPP's completion and said that, in addition to government money, the project also had backing from the ghmc via the Quli Qutb Shah Urban Development Authority (QQSUDA). He stated during Question Time in the assembly on friday that hmda further supported the restoration of historic places.

In the past, MA&UD had also allocated Rs. 150 crore to start road widening projects in seven Old City districts. In accordance with CPP, the 5.4 km outer and 2.3 km inner ring roads have been finished, and four slip roads have been designated for development. He said that hyderabad will receive the same designation as the Qutb Shahi Tombs as a World heritage City by the State government, which has been concentrating on restoring historic buildings like MJ Market and others in the city.

"The general public, as well as congress and bjp members in the House, are aware that K Chandrashekhar Rao, the president of the BRS, will be appointed chief minister for a third time. By the end of 2024, the CPP will be finished, according to Rama Rao. The minister responded to AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi by stating that a French business had previously approached the State government about bringing tram services from the Metro station to charminar and from Shaikpet to the Qutb Shahi tombs.

"A preliminary evaluation of the potential for a tram was also provided. In a few days, we will arrange a meeting with the MLAs from Old City to talk about the initiative. A cable vehicle has also been on our radar. We'll talk about all of these initiatives," Rama Rao promised.
