At bhadrachalam in the district on Friday, the water level in the godavari river has risen and has above the second warning level. 52.10 feet of water were under the surdata-face at 7 o'clock, with a discharge of 13.85 lakh cusecs. district collector Dr. priyanka Ala, along with special flood relief officer Anudeep Durishetty, attended a meeting in bhadrachalam with flood duty officials to assess the relief preparations. They advised the officers that they could expect the water level to rise even more and be likely to exceed 60 feet by midnight.
Three NDRF teams and one indian Air Force chopper, according to Dr. Ala, were ready to conduct rescue efforts. On Friday, 4900 people from over 1523 households living in 30 revenue villages and 45 habitations were relocated to 22 relief camps spread out over the district. The populace in flood-prone villages was warned as the flood flow increased. Due to the escalating flood flow, officers on flood relief duty were placed on high alert to handle any emergencies. Transport services will be resumed by saturday in the nine low-lying locations where water had accumulated on the roadways and impeded travel. The collector declared that vehicles were permitted to go on roadways.
