At least 5 killed as rains continue to wreak havoc in Telangana

Over the past three days, at least five individuals have died in rain-related accidents as torrential precipitation drenched the state. In nine districts, including Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Pedappally, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, and Warangal, the IMD has issued a red alert. On Tuesday, July 25, two adolescent sisters, Swathi, 19, and Anusha, 16, perished after being swept away by an overflowing creek in Mahabubnagar.

A young guy died on Wednesday, July 26, after unintentionally falling into the Sabitham Waterfalls in the peddapalli area. Venkatesh, a 22-year-old from Karimnagar, was named as the dead. 19 persons in the Manthani region were rescued after being stuck in the Maneru River as a result of an unexpected rise in river flow. About 80 hikers in the mulugu area were rescued by rescue crews after being trapped under the state's tallest waterfall, Muthyaladhara.

To make sure everyone was saved, the mulugu police superintendent tweeted about the rescue efforts. "Rescue efforts have been finished. 80 lost visitors in all were found and saved. We confirmed with each group that nobody was still missing. They have received medical attention as well as water biscuits and lemon rice. One youngster was treated after receiving a minor scorpion bite, the mulugu SP tweeted.
