The leaders of BSP also belonged to Dalits or OBCs. This exercise of BSP gave a huge political message that any party belonging to one caste can reach power. Similarly, the Samajwadi party made inroads among the Yadavs, the largest vote bank of the OBCs, and came to power in UP. Apna Dal and Nishad party or Bharatiya Samaj party are the parties that emerged after this election message, that is, all the castes formed their own party. An example of such a party is the Peace Party. It was made in 2008.
The PECP or Peace party contested about 208 assembly seats in the 2012 Uttar Pradesh Legislative assembly elections, where it got 2.35 percent of the votes. She stood fifth in terms of percentage of votes. The Peace party was officially recognized as a state party.
