Manipur has been burning in the fire of violence for the last two and a half months. Recently, a video of two women being paraded naked and sexually assaulted went viral. Regarding the violence taking place in the state, Union Earth Sciences minister KirenRijiju said on saturday (July 22) that the central government will present the facts in parliament on the incident in Manipur.

KirenRijiju refused to speak about a video circulating on the internet in which some people can be seen parading two women naked. Refusing to get into any controversy over the May 4 incident in Kangpokpi district, Rijiju indicated that it would be inappropriate to discuss the issue outside Parliament.

When asked questions on the incident, Rijiju said, "Whatever matter will be discussed in parliament, we will keep our point, but right now I cannot say anything on this matter." The minister said that he was here for the job fair and would not make any further comment.Officials said on saturday that the Manipur police has arrested one more person, aged about 19 years, in connection with the May 4 incident. It is alleged that both the women were sexually assaulted before being released.

One of the women with whom this shameful incident happened is the wife of a former indian Army soldier. The mob is also accused of killing two people during that time.
