The script of opposition unity was prepared in almost two phases. In preparing it, some leaders played a role from behind the scenes and some came directly in front.
Phase-1: Together with Lalu, Nitish prepared the basic structure
Soon after the presidential election in July 2022, nitish kumar announced breaking the alliance with BJP. nitish kumar resigned from patna Raj Bhavan and went directly to Lalu Yadav's house. There were already RJD, congress and Male MLAs there.
In this meeting, Nitish talked about removing bjp from power in the entire country and bihar by creating opposition unity. After the formation of the Grand Alliance government, nitish kumar met Lalu Yadav, where the script for creating opposition unity in the country was prepared.
Meanwhile, Nitish got a call from Om Prakash Chautala, Sitaram Yechury and K chandrasekhar Rao. On august 31, Rao came to patna and met Nitish Kumar. Rao had already launched a campaign for opposition unity and Nitish had already met several leaders.
After meeting Rao, Nitish left for delhi tour on 5 September. He met CPM's Sitaram Yechury, Arvind Kejriwal, HD Kumaraswamy and sharad pawar in Delhi. In the beginning, Nitish was preparing a strategy for a direct contest with the bjp on 500 seats by involving 15 parties.But the congress did not give importance to Nitish's mission. There were 2 reasons for this. The first congress had elected a new president and the second Nitish had done this kind of experiment in 2015 as well.
