'Shinde refused to give finance ministry to AjitPawar'…
MP sanjay raut on saturday (July 15) claimed that chief minister EknathShinde's shiv sena had urged the bjp leadership in delhi not to give the Finance portfolio to nationalist congress party (NCP) leader AjitPawar, but they did not agree.Raut also claimed that Shinde's shiv sena was told that if it had any problem with AjitPawar being given the finance ministry in the maharashtra government, it could exchange the post and give him (AjitPawar) the chief minister's post. Responding to Raut's claim, AjitPawar said that this is an unnecessary attempt to vitiate the atmosphere.
What did sanjay raut say?
Raut claimed, “They went to delhi and no attention was paid to them. They were told to continue (in the government) if they are willing. delhi said that if you have any problem with AjitPawar keeping the finance department, then keep the department with you and give him (Pawar) the post of chief minister by exchanging the post. This is the information I have. When nine ncp MLAs who joined the EknathShinde-DevendraFadnavis government on July 2 were allocated portfolios, Pawar was allotted the Finance and Planning portfolios on friday (July 14). The finance department was with deputy chief minister DevendraFadnavis.
What was AjitPawar accused of?
Shinde and other shiv sena legislators had cited AjitPawar's withholding of funds as finance minister in the erstwhile MahaVikasAghadi (MVA) government as one of the reasons for rebelling against uddhav thackeray last year.Raut said that welcoming AjitPawar in the state cabinet and as finance minister shows the helplessness of the Shindefaction. He said, “The importance of the Shinde faction was limited only to break the shiv sena and now it is over. I doubt whether the AjitPawar faction will remain in power for long. BJP's policy is to use and throw away.
What answer did AjitPawar give?
Asked about Raut's claim that the faction led by Shinde was asked to step down as chief minister as he was not ready to give up the finance portfolio, AjitPawar said, "I don't know. This is an attempt to vitiate the atmosphere unnecessarily. We are happy with the allocation of portfolios. He said in Nashik that about 14 posts are vacant (in the cabinet) and it is the chief minister's prerogative to expand the cabinet.
