GHMC to implement Road Reader project in Hyderabad soon
The hyderabad municipal corporation-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>greater hyderabad municipal corporation (GHMC) will shortly deploy the "Road Reader" initiative that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) piloted in Bengaluru. Road signs with QR codes will be put as part of this project, and when scanned, people will have access to information about the road and the individuals in charge of maintaining it, strengthening the grievance redressal process at Urban local Bodies (ULBs).
Users will be sent to a webpage with information, including the name and phone number of the contractors and municipal employees in charge of that route, after the OR code is scanned. The webpage will also include information on the route in addition to the contact information for the Engineering, Sanitation, and other ULB departments in charge of maintaining the road. Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) minister KT Rama Rao issued instructions to undertake the BBMP project in hyderabad on monday after learning about a request made on a social media site.
In his response, Rama Rao pledged to put Road Readers into place as soon as possible and tagged Mayor G Vijay Laxmi and Special Chief Secretary, MA&UD, Arvind Kumar for further action. Later, Arvind Kumar announced on social media that the plan will be implemented in six to eight weeks, and the Mayor pledged to work with authorities to see that it was done in the GHMC.
