Largest IMF borrower List..!? pakistan in which list..!?

Pakistan, which is in dire economic straits, continues to advance in the list of countries that borrow the most from the international Monetary Fund. Debt-ridden pakistan will take on US$3 billion in new loans over the next nine months under a stand-by arrangement reached with the global lender the IMF, moving up one place to fourth in the international Fund's list of top borrowers. Under a stand-by arrangement with the Washington-based international Monetary Fund last Thursday, it will receive another US$3 billion over the next nine months. Then, pakistan will move to the fourth position in this list. The deal, which still needs to be approved by the IMF's board, will be available eight months later. In terms of IMF borrowing, argentina ranks first with $46 billion, egypt second with $18 billion, ukraine third with $12.2 billion, ecuador fourth with $8.2 billion, and pakistan $7.4 billion. With USD 10.4 billion in IMF loans, pakistan will overtake ecuador to become the world's fourth largest borrower from the international Monetary Fund.
Cash-strapped pakistan is facing a severe payments crisis due to complications from the war in ukraine and internal problems. Even though a total of 93 countries owe money, the IMF's top 10 biggest borrowers, including pakistan, have the highest debt. According to the report, pakistan is the largest borrower from the IMF in the Asian region. pakistan gained 0.25 percent against the dollar daily. As of last week, it was seen at 286.71 against the US Dollar. FY 2023 is a challenging year for Pakistan. Other Asian countries such as Sri Lanka, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, armenia (West Asia), and mongolia have also borrowed from the international Monetary Fund. However, these countries lag far behind pakistan in borrowing from the IMF.
According to IMF figures, as of march 31 this year, the international Monetary Fund has issued $155 billion or $115.2 billion in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) loans to balance the world's financial position and support fragile economies. In august 2022, the IMF disbursed USD 1.1 billion to pakistan as part of a USD 6.5 billion program agreed in July 2019. Only 19 of the IMF's member countries have borrowed $1 billion or more.

Pakistan's economy has been in a state of free fall for the past several years and the poor people are facing enormous pressure due to inflation.
