According to Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister KT Rama Rao, a new motorway stretching 55 km from Manchirevula to nagole and crossing the River Musi is proposed. He stated that chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has many development plans for the State, particularly Hyderabad, and that this motorway would facilitate connectivity between the western and eastern parts of the city, decongesting the traffic. He did this after opening the Outer Ring Road (ORR) Narsingi interchange. The project would cost Rs 10,000 crore to complete, and in addition to the 14 bridges that will dot the Musi River, there will also be a motorway.

Rama Rao further requested prime minister Narendra Modi to grant the Defence land so that construction projects may be carried out in various areas of the city. Rama Rao requested the prime minister to come to telangana with the good news before his planned visit to the State the following week.

The MA&UD minister stated that a number of projects, including the skywalk in Mehdipatnam, await the purchase of Defence lands and added that the State is prepared to award 500 acres in shamirpet in place of the 150 acres of Defence property necessary for construction projects.
