Chandrababu Naidu and the tdp were defeated in the 2019 andhra pradesh general elections by the opposition YSRCP party, with major help from telangana chief minister KCR. It is stated that kcr plans to use the same tactics to beat the tdp once more in the elections of 2024. cm Jagan mohan reddy would profit from KCR's new approach, according to political insiders, in the next general elections in Andhra Pradesh. Instead of backing the TDP-Jana Sena combination, the plan aims to split the votes of the Kapu community, who are purportedly unhappy with Jagan's policy.
KCR allegedly met with former All india Service officers from the Kapu community in hyderabad to discuss this tactic, with AP-BRS President thota chandrasekhar leading the group. The retired officials asked for money and land to create a facility in the twin cities for many castes, including Telaga, Kapu, Ontari, and Balija. According to reports, kcr gave them a favourable response and pledged to carry out their wishes; but, in exchange, he urged them to make sure that the 25 lakh Munnuru Kapu voters in telangana would back him.
Additionally, it is said that kcr spoke with the retired officials about the broader political climate in andhra pradesh, ostensibly on Jagan's behalf. He allegedly counselled them against inviting the tdp to a janasena gathering and urged them to put pressure on pawan kalyan to run unopposed. According to reports, kcr voiced worry over Janasena's expansion in the state and the desire of the populace for pawan kalyan to hold the position of Chief Minister. This advice's stated goal was to divide the Kapu votes in andhra pradesh and prevent them from coalescing behind the TDP-Jana Sena combination.
