Telangana CM KCR inaugurates Asia’s largest Govt-funded housing project at Kollur

The largest government-funded housing complex in Asia, kcr Nagar at Kollur, with double bedrooms, was officially opened by the chief minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, on Thursday. Additionally, he began the process of allocating to the recipients more than 60,000 housing units spread around the city.
The chief minister was greeted upon his arrival as priests chanted Vedic chants. He launched the dignity housing project in front of several elected officials and representatives from hyderabad city, including Mayor Gadwal vijayalakshmi of the GHMC, Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari, and Ministers KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, P Sabitha indra Reddy, Talasani srinivas Yadav, and Ch Malla Reddy.
Later, Chandrashekhar Rao planted a tree on the grounds of the housing project and drove about in a battery-powered car to look at the facilities and housing units. Beneficiaries Gaddameedi Renuka, Haisiya Begum, Mudawath Sharada, Pulligala Devi, chakali Sujatha, and Ketavath keerthi received house units from him.
In 117 blocks, the project has a total of 15,660 housing units. Each dwelling unit is 560 square feet on the plinth and 398 square feet on the carpet, and it has a hall, two modest bedrooms, two bathrooms, one kitchen, and a utility room. With just 108 units per acre, only 37% of the project has been utilised for building. The 145.5 acre township's open space allocation, which includes roads, pathways, playgrounds, social infrastructure, and landscaping, is about 63%. There is plenty of greenery thanks to the 30,000 trees that have been planted around the community.

Using top-notch building materials, the State government built the housing development and a sizable infrastructure, including underground electric ducting and cabling, underground and stormwater drainage, emergency backup generators, drinking water pipelines, a sewage treatment facility and a solid waste management yard. In addition to a 10,000 square foot community centre, the township will have three shopping centres with a combined total of 118 stores.
