GHMC ward offices become instant hit with general public
The idea of convergence, where personnel from many municipal agencies are present under one roof, also left visitors feeling quite satisfied. The ghmc intends to station police officers at the ward offices in order to further increase the scope of its services. Due to this practise, any complaints, regardless of the department involved, may be resolved at the ward offices.
According to Dr. Sankeert Gangakhedkar, a city doctor, "during intense spells of rain, these ward offices will be very useful as all the rain-related grievances including power outages, water logging, sewage, etc. will be resolved through one complaint and people will no longer have to contact various departments."
The ghmc has also determined that it is the responsibility of the ghmc, not the complaint, to escalate the issue to the appropriate staff members if a person contacts the incorrect ward office.
Zaheeruddin Siddiqui, the WAO in Kanchanbagh, and Sai Srinivas, the WAO in Banjara Hills, both said that they are making every effort to address the complaints by the timeframes specified. According to Sai Srinivas, "We were able to address complaints about lighting, sanitation, and road repair on the same day."
