Telangana Muslims Excluded in Govt Schemes

Concerns have been raised over an alleged coordinated plot in telangana to deny Muslims access to government programs. There have been concerns about whether the state administration is adopting a strategy that isolates Muslims from society in line with the BJP. The state government's recent announcement of the Rs 1 lakh financial aid plan for the backward classes (BC) has caused controversy since it excludes the BC(E) group, which has an influence on Muslim representation.

The government's cabinet subcommittee resolved to give professionals and artisans who fall under the bc category Rs 1 lakh in support in order to grow their enterprises at a meeting of the cabinet that was held on May 27. For this program, the application procedure has already started. Despite the absence of clarity in the government instructions, the BC(E) community has been excluded from this key government project. Although the government has claimed that all bc category members, including professionals and craftsmen, can take advantage of this program, only BC-A, BC-B, and BC-D applicants are currently being accepted on the official website. Muslim communities are covered by BC(E), and many of them do so because of their occupations.

There are worries that the government's exclusionary strategy is purposely limiting Muslim people's possibilities for advancement. It was previously announced that a Muslim Bandhu plan will be started when the Dalit Bandhu scheme for Dalits was launched. However, little progress has been achieved in this area, and now Muslims have been left out of the new plan for bc communities. As a result, Muslims who fall under the bc category are not eligible for the Rs. 100,000 government program. The Quraish community, Muslim barbers, Muslim animal skin dealers, Muslim dhobis, Muslim beggars, and even Muslim perfume salespeople have all been categorized under the BC(E) category based on their professions and skill.

Despite Muslim communities being included in the BC(E) category, Muslims are not included in the plan outlined under GoMS-5. This circumstance raises concerns that the government intentionally denies minorities, particularly Muslims, access to these vital programs. This scheme excludes BC(C), which covers bc classes of Christian communities, and BC(E), which includes bc classes of Muslim communities. Despite requests made to government representatives by numerous Muslim community organizations, the response given was that it was a policy choice and they were unable to change it.

Notable figures in the administration include the Muslim home Minister, Minority Affairs Advisor, Principal Secretary of Minority Welfare, director of Minority Welfare, and a number of other influential people. The systematic exclusion of Muslims from government programs, however, continues without change, which worries the Muslim community.
