2.11 cr saplings planted under Haritha Haram in erstwhile Warangal
Errabelli Dayakar Rao, minister of panchayat raj and rural development, exhorted people to actively take part in tree-planting campaigns like the Haritha Haram scheme. Speaking to the crowd during green festival activities hosted in the districts of Palakurthi and Jangaon on Monday, the minister praised Haritha Haram, the telangana government's flagship scheme, for its outstanding achievement. He said that as a result of the coordinated efforts undertaken as part of the project, the State's forest cover had increased by an astonishing 6.85 percent during the previous six years.
"Our commitment lies not only in building wealth for the future but in securing a greener and healthier environment for our next generations," Errabelli said. We have been able to include the people in this noble endeavor on such a large scale thanks to chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's profound vision.
According to him, the Haritha Haram initiative planted 2.11 crore seedlings in the former warangal district between 2015 and 2022. He said that as part of the ongoing centenary festivities, several departments had started planting an extra 88,860 trees around the district. "The administration has set a lofty goal of planting 25,95,00,000 seedlings by the year 2023. Since 2016, approximately 4.20 crore saplings have been planted in the Jangaon district alone, according to him. He asked the populace to actively support the cause by planting trees in their residences, places of employment, and educational institutions.
