Over 15,000 families' life in the city will soon change from grimy slums to pleasant living in 2-bedroom tower homes. The kollur 2BHK Dignity Housing Colony's opening ceremony is being planned by the Greater hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The telangana government's Double Bed Room Housing Scheme was used to construct this massive housing project in kollur, which consists of 15,600 homes.

In addition to receiving recognition on a national level, the kollur 2BHK project won the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) award for best practises in the area of housing, urban poverty, and infrastructure. An official from the civic body stated, "The chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will inaugurate this mega housing colony and ghmc Commissioner DS lokesh Kumar is personally monitoring the works." He said that the kollur 2BHK Dignity Housing Colony would either be opened as part of the telangana Formation's Decennial Celebrations or following the conclusion of the 21-day festivities that started on june 2.

The amenities of kollur 2BHK Dignity Housing Colony constructed for the economically poorer parts are currently on par with housing societies built by private builders. This includes all work linked to the housing colony, including water supply connection and power. Some of them include parks with walking trails, private sewage treatment plants (STP), elevator power backup, hallway lighting, outdoor gyms, and playgrounds.
