ECI team to visit Telangana to check poll preparedness

A group from the indian election Commission will be in the city for three days starting on june 22 to assess and guarantee the State's readiness for the next election. The delegation led by Deputy election Commissioner dharmendra Sharma, Senior, and Deputy election Commissioners, along with senior officers of the ECI, would assess the readiness of the State machinery for the upcoming elections to State, according to Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj, who convened a meeting with director General of police (DGP) Anjani Kumar on wednesday to discuss and assess the State's poll preparedness.

The ECI delegation's first contacts during their visit will be with the CEO, the Special police Nodal Officer, and the Central Armed police Forces (CAPF) Nodal Officer. Following that, they will hold in-depth discussions with district Collectors, SPs, and numerous enforcement organizations, such as the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC), DRI, RPF, CISF, Excise Department, Income Tax (CBDT), NCB, and State GST and CGST Department.

According to Vikas Raj, this cooperative endeavor intends to promote cooperation at the State and district Levels to protect the integrity of the voting process. Anjani Kumar emphadata-sized the necessity of having enough manpower and the critical role that district police officers play in ensuring a secure and peaceful election. While facilitating cross-functional training with organizations like the Income Tax and GST departments, he instructed officers to map data-border checkpoints.
