Telangana outshines other States in public grievance redressal

Telangana is the most effective State and Union Territory at resolving public complaints, ranking first overall. For the month of May this year, the State had the shortest average shutdown time—just eight days—against 2,524 disposals. andaman and Nicobar was in third place with a closing time average of 20 days against 442 disposals, while lakshadweep took second with an average closing time of 12 days against 171 disposals.
Telangana has also clinched the top rank among States with fewer than 15,000 grievances, according to the most recent rankings released by the Centre's Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances under the Centralised Public Grievances Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), scoring an impressive 72.49 in public grievance redressal. With a score of 55.75, chhattisgarh came in second, while uttarakhand took third with a score of 49.69.

Telangana also came in fourth place for the most Action Taken Reports (ATR) that were disposed of, behind assam, Haryana, and Chhattisgarh. A total of 2,376 ATR disposals were reported by the State, with 49 totally resolved and 2,327 partially resolved cases. Notably, there were no open disputes in Telangana.

According to the CPGRAMS rankings for the month of May, all of the States and union Territories resolved a total of 65,983 grievances. telangana beat over all other States and union territories to claim the title of State having the quickest method for resolving grievances.

In the ranking of the States with more than 15,000 complaints, Uttar Pradesh took first place with a score of 62.07, followed by jharkhand and madhya pradesh with scores of 46.14 and 43.05. With an average closing period of 24 days, Uttar Pradesh completed 1,01,465 grievances, placing first in this category. But among all states and union territories, it came in second in terms of score and fourth in terms of the number of days needed for grievance resolution.

Sikkim won the North east category with a score of 64.9, followed by assam and Arunachal Pradesh with scores of 54.89 and 51.72. With a score of 70.56, lakshadweep led the union territories in Group B, followed by the andaman & Nicobar Islands (63.09), Ladakh (55.20), and Ladakh.

Citizens can file complaints about the provision of services on the 24/7 internet platform known as CPGRAMS. The program acts as a single point of access for citizens to numerous Ministries and Departments of the Federal and State governments. Using the special registration identifier provided at the time of filing, anybody can follow the progress of a complaint once it has been filed on CPGRAMS. For users who are unhappy with the Grievance Officer's resolution, the platform also provides an appeals process.
