For sexually abusing another officer while on duty in London, a former Met police officer with ties to india was sentenced to prison. He belonged to the North Area Command Unit, and on march 6 at Wood Green Crown Court, he was found guilty. Four days later, he submitted his resignation. The attacker, identified as PC Archit Sharma, received a 16-month prison term and a 10-year listing on the sex Offender Register. He was sentenced to pay a victim surcharge of 156 pounds and is subject to a restraining order that forbids him from speaking to the victim for a period of ten years.
On december 7, a complaint was made against Sharma; since then, an inquiry has been going on. Sharma, according to the court, violated the standards of professional conduct in relation to authority, respect and courtesy, and discreditable conduct. Sharma has now been added to the college of Policing's Barred List.
He is prohibited from participating in any type of policing activity, including those carried out by the fire and Rescue services and Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary. His superiors believed that the conclusion demonstrated how seriously they treat reports of sexual offences, regardless of who the offender may be.
