Telangana Secretariat - Cabinet scraps GO 111
On Thursday, the State Cabinet, which met here under the chairmanship of chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, announced that GO No. 111, which was issued in 1996 to prevent excessive industrialization, heavy construction, and pollution of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, would be repealed.

The villages inside the hmda borders and the city of hyderabad were no longer reliant on the two water sources. The Godavari, Krishna, and Manjeera rivers provided the majority of the water for the city and the surrounding areas. Additionally, the State government decided to repeal GO No. 111, which the residents of the 84 villages had long demanded. They opposed the GO because it prevented any local growth and left them without it. They would no longer be subject to any limitations on how they may use their land. Now, the city could obtain enough drinking water from important rivers like the Godavari, Krishna, and Manjeera.
