Fallen BJP...Risen Congress...! A Glimpse..!
Karnataka assembly election results are unexpected, here are the full details of the results.
Karnataka Legislative assembly Elections:
It was announced on march 29 that the election to the 224-member karnataka assembly will be held on May 10. After that, the election festival spread across the state. prime minister Modi, home minister amit shah, bjp National President JP Nadda, bjp Chief Ministers, and key executives campaigned in full swing. Similarly, congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge, and former presidents sonia gandhi, rahul Gandhi, and priyanka gandhi were also involved in campaigning across Karnataka. In such a situation, the pre-and post-election polls had indicated that the congress party would win power in Karnataka. However, the 113 constituencies required for a majority will not be achieved. It was said that a hung assembly would be formed. Meanwhile, polling was held peacefully on May 10. 73.19% voter turnout was recorded in the assembly elections to show public interest.
The counting of votes was done yesterday. The tussle between the congress and bjp parties continued in the first ballot counting. After this, machine votes were counted. In this, both the parties alternated and took the lead till 11 am. After that, the situation started to reverse. The ruling bjp started to gain a lead in fewer constituencies. On the other hand, the constituencies where the congress was leading saw a boom. Finally, according to the announcement made by the election Commission, the congress party in karnataka has won 135 seats, the bjp has won 66 seats and the secular Janata Dal has won 19 seats. Also, Kalyana Rajya Pragati party and Sarvodaya karnataka Paksha have won one seat and independent candidates have won two seats. It has been 9 years since bjp came to power at the center. bjp has won most of the elections in these 9 years. Even though congress and other parties won some elections, bjp continued to do its political maneuvering there. It is in this situation that the congress party has returned a strong blow to the BJP.
Even if the bjp does not get a majority, it is said that plans have been made to take over the government in alliance with the secular Janata Dal. But the congress has won more than the majority of seats to the extent that it cannot come to power even with an alliance. PM Modi visited karnataka 8 times before the election and 7 days after the election date was announced. Apart from that, he gathered support for the party by marching in an open vehicle for a distance of about 33 km which is unprecedented in history in Bengaluru. Even so, BJP's defeat is seen as a big setback for the party.
