Rains - Low Pressure Developed in South Bay of Bengal
A low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of bengal and South andaman Sea tomorrow, according to the chennai Meteorological Department.
In this regard, a press release issued by the chennai Meteorological Department said: There is a downward circulation in the atmosphere over the coastal areas of northern tamil Nadu. An atmospheric low circulation prevails over Southeast Bay of bengal and South andaman Sea on 7th. Due to this, a low pressure area may develop in those areas on 8th. It will strengthen as a low pressure area on 9th and move northwards and may intensify into a cyclonic storm over Central Bay of bengal and North andaman Sea.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places in tamil Nadu, puducherry and Karaikal today on 7th. Dharampuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Salem, Kallakurichi, Erode, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Namakkal, Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore districts and Karaikal districts received heavy rain.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places over tamil Nadu, puducherry and Karaikal on 8th. tamil Nadu, puducherry and Karaikal regions may experience light to moderate rain on 9th and 10th. The maximum temperature may gradually increase by 2-4 degrees Celsius in tamil Nadu, puducherry and Karaikal till 11th.
Over chennai and its suburbs, the sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. Light/moderate rain with thundershower at a couple of places over the city. Maximum temperature will be around 34 degree Celsius and minimum temperature will be around 27 degree Celsius.
Fisherman's Warning: Cyclonic winds of 40 to 50 kmph and occasional gusts of 60 kmph are likely to occur over Southeast Bay of bengal and adjoining andaman Sea areas on 7th and 8th.
Cyclonic winds of 50 to 60 kmph and occasional gusts of 70 kmph are likely to occur over Southeast Bay of bengal and adjacent andaman Sea areas on 9th.
On 10th and 11th, cyclonic winds of 60 to 70 kmph and occasional gusts of 80 kmph may occur over Southeast and adjoining Central Bay of bengal and andaman Sea areas.
