During the election campaign in karnataka, former chief minister Siddaramaiah tripped and fell down from his car. Former chief minister and senior leader of congress Siddaramaiah went to Vijayanagar yesterday afternoon to campaign as the elections are going to be held in karnataka on May 10.

Then he stood beside the car and waved to the volunteers. Later, Siddaramaiah stumbled and fell down while trying to get into the car. His assistants immediately took over. Then they gave him some glucose. Then he returned to normal. Siddaramaiah said, "I am fine. Volunteers need not worry. The media should not exaggerate this," he said. As Siddaramaiah fell down from the car, there was a moment of commotion among the volunteers in the area.

Satish Jarkiholi, the working president of the karnataka Pradesh congress Committee (KPCC), is a three-term lawmaker from the Scheduled Tribe (ST)-only district of Yemkanmardi in Belagavi. He claims in an interview with The indian Express that the new reservation policy of the bjp administration will not significantly change the SC-ST vote in favour of the ruling party. Jarkiholi claims that the congress will benefit from the "insult" the bjp meted out to Lingayat leaders because some of these politicians have switched over to the opposition party, but he adds, "It is not likely that the votes will swing completely in our favour."
