Karnataka-AAP is requesting national party status...

In karnataka, AAP is asking to become a national party. Before april 13, 2023, the supreme court can make a decision in this matter.

The aam aadmi party (AAP) is waiting for the court's decision to get the status of a national party. Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP is seeking national party status ahead of karnataka assembly elections 2023. The karnataka high court can issue a decision in this regard before 13 April.

During the hearing of the petition in the karnataka high court, Justice M Nagaprasanna said that it is the responsibility of the commission to independently assess the request and take a decision. The high court directed that the commission should take a decision by april 13 and dispose of the petition.

The AAP on wednesday approached the high court alleging that the election commission of india has kept its appeal for recognition as a national party "under review".

Prithvi Reddy, convenor of the AAP karnataka unit, filed a petition in the karnataka High Court. There has been a delay despite AAP's claim in the petition that it satisfies all requirements for designation as a national party. The AAP is solely recognised as a political party.
