All the leading smartphone companies starting with apple have moved their smartphone production to India. Foxconn has set up a huge smartphone factory in Chennai. In order to replace the biggest smartphone factory in Zhengzhou in china, Foxconn has decided to build a huge hostel for the employees, not only hiring more employees and improving the production base. In order to make the chennai factory on par with the largest smartphone factory in Zhengzhou in china, Foxconn has decided not only to add more employees and upgrade the production base but also to build a huge hostel for the employees.
Apple's biggest supplier, Foxconn, has decided to build a huge hostel complex near its chennai factory to house its workers. It is said that the hostel complex will have the facilities to accommodate around 60000 people. In the last 6 months, apple has given most of its production in china to india, and a large part of it to Foxconn, and it is in this situation that Taiwan's Foxconn has decided to build the chennai factory to accommodate future production growth.
Currently, it has decided to build a huge hostel that can accommodate 60,000 people. It is noteworthy that a similar structure exists in Zhengzhou, China. Foxconn aims to increase its workforce by 4 times in the next 2 years. The main reason for this decision is the recent dispute between the workers and the management of the factory in Zhengzhou, China.
To cope, the hostel is being rapidly built near the factory to house the workers to keep the production going round the clock. The Sriperumbudur factory of Foxconn Han Hai, the indian arm of Taiwan's iphone maker Foxconn, is currently manufacturing Apple's latest release, the iphone 14 phones. At present, nearly 15,000 employees are working in this factory. Most of them are at the level of workers. The company aims to increase this number to 70,000 in the next 18 months.
Foxconn management has started construction of this hostel because of the need for accommodation facilities for the new employees. With this, a 20,000-bed hostel will be ready in the next 10 months. The two hostels under construction are expected to have a capacity of 60,000 workers.
