BJP
leader who insulted journalists as monkeys..!?
The incident of
tamil Nadu
bjp President
annamalai criticizing journalists in Cuddalore has sparked a huge controversy. The
chennai Journalists' Forum has strongly condemned this. Journalists have been accusing the
tamil Nadu
bjp leaders of not giving proper answers to the questions asked by the journalists and sometimes speaking in low quality. In particular, a journalist from
annamalai called him DMK's slave, which created a stir among journalists.
In a statement issued by them, a few days ago, in a
press conference,
bjp State President
annamalai had talked about
diwali alcohol sales figures and had advised
minister Senthil
balaji to file a case against him and not to threaten journalists. However, within two days today (27-10-2022) in Cuddalore, when journalists tried to ask questions,
bjp leader annamalai criticized them by saying that they got angry and jumped around like a monkey on a tree. When asked what the answer to the comment made by
minister Senthil
balaji is, he is furious that he cannot answer everything about
dogs and ghost liquor sellers.
They need not criticize his political reactions. However, the
chennai Journalists' Forum strongly condemns
annamalai journalists for expressing their anger and calling them monkeys. True journalists are not slaves to the intellectuals, nor are they mercenaries. Politicians should stop the trend of disparaging journalists by identifying them as
party and regime.
The increasing trend of intimidation of journalists by politicians in
tamil Nadu is regrettable and condemnable. They reiterate that
people in public should exercise restraint and urge
tamil Nadu
bjp President
annamalai to express his regret for his words. They hope that will be the
politics of health.
