Is Panneer in tears with the ban?

The tension in tamil Nadu is over. Former chief minister Edappadi Palaniswami has been selected as the General Secretary of AIADMK Tatkali. This ended the crisis that had been brewing in the party for the past few months. The moment Palaniswami took the reins of the party in his own hands, the former chief minister expelled Panniru Selvam, who was the party's treasurer and the party's convener. Palaniswami took a decision to this effect in the general meeting held on July 11. Besides, Panniru Selvam was also removed from the primary membership of the party. Along with him, his supporters were also expelled from the party.

It is known that the party data-faced many crises after the sudden death of former cm of tamil Nadu AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa. After Jayalalitha's death, Jayalalithaa's party Sasikala took control of the government. He had to go to jail in an embezzlement case before he could take over the duties of Chief Minister. This made his trusted pawn Edappadi palani Swamy (EPS) sit on the CM's pedestal.

At the same time, O. Panneerselvam, who took over as the interim cm after Jayalalitha's death, also tried to hold on to the party government. After Sasikala was jailed, EPS and OPS came together for the betterment of the party government. OPS party Convener took charge as deputy cm as EPS Chief Minister.

 It is known that AIADMK was defeated in last year's elections and DMK led by stalin came to power. With this AIADMK is limited to the opposition. This led to a power struggle between EPS and OPS for supremacy over the party. Both factions have approached the court regarding the party general meeting.

But most of the 60 district secretaries active in the AIADMK party are with Palaniswami. He was encouraged by the fact that out of the total 66 MLAs, except for two or three, they were with the EPS. Apart from this, there are reports that Panneerselvam is close to Sasikala and is trying to get her into the party. With this, EPS came to the conclusion that there is a conspiracy to destabilize him. The issue of single leadership was brought to the fore.

In this context, Panneerselvam approached the madras high court to impose a ban on the General assembly led by Palani. However, on July 11, the court issued a verdict rejecting this petition. Soon after this verdict, the party held a general meeting under the leadership of palani Swamy. In this, 16 resolutions brought by the EPS group were approved. A resolution appointing palani as the acting general secretary of the party was also passed.

On this occasion, the AIADMK has also unanimously approved the special resolution brought by the OPS to remove his supporters from the party. In the resolution, Panneerselvam alleged that he was supporting the official DMK and was trying to weaken the AIADMK by increasing ties with the leaders of the ruling party. For acting against the interests of the party's ideologies, a resolution was introduced and passed to expel him from the post of treasurer and also from the basic membership of the party.

On the other hand, Panniru Selvam reacted strongly to this. He said that he was elected as AIADMK coordinator by 1.5 crore party workers. Palaniswami has no right to expel him from the party. He said that he is removing EPS from the basic membership of the party for unilaterally taking this decision against the rules of the party. He said that he will go to court on this matter.
