
Yogi's big move for Sportspersons!!!
The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to appoint medal winners in various international sports including Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games in order to promote sports among the youth and encourage sportspersons.
In the meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Council of Ministers held on Tuesday, it has been decided to appoint medal-winning players to 24 posts in 9 departments of the state. The Council of Ministers has also given its consent to hold the session of the UP Legislature from May 23.
UP Finance minister suresh Kumar Khanna told reporters in lucknow after the meeting of the Council of Ministers that sportspersons native to Uttar Pradesh, who have won medals in international sports events, would be posted in 24 gazetted posts in nine departments of the state.
Suresh Khanna said that for this a committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary will select these players. This will help in developing sports culture in the state. The minister said that the nine departments in which these players will be appointed include Rural Development, Secondary Education, Basic Education, home Department, panchayati Raj Department, youth Welfare Department, Transport Department, Forest Department, and Revenue Department.Medal-winning Paralympic Games have also been included under this. A similar scheme is currently in force in other states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and Bihar.
