Three college students are being treated at the Medical college Hospital for vomiting and dizziness after eating 'Shawarma' in Tanjore. A student died after eating shawarma, causing widespread outrage in Kerala. Orathanadu, thanjavur District, has a government veterinary college. This college has hostels for Praveen (22) from Kanyakumari, Parimaleswaran (21) from Pudukottai, and Manikandan (22) from Dharmapuri.
For the previous few days, the three had been on holiday in their respective hometowns. They returned to campus yesterday after their vacation. The three of them then returned to the hotel after eating chicken shawarma at a fast food restaurant beside a gas station on Orathanadu section road. While eating chicken shawarma, we conversed with other students.
Then three people, including Praveen, puked in a row and passed out. As a result, the other pupils were left to their own devices. The administrators of the college was notified. For treatment, the three students were taken to Orathanadu government Hospital. The students slept there for the night. However, because to their severe physical sensitivities, they were rushed to the Tanjore government Medical college Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
