The US wanted to put India on the 'red list'!
The united states Commission on Religious Freedom has for two consecutive years recommended that the US Commission put india on the "red list" on the issue of human rights.
However, the US State Department refused to do so. Now, on april 25, the US Commission will issue such a list again. Earlier, a US civil rights group had written a letter to the commission demanding that india be placed on a red list.
According to the Tribune, those trying to cover up India's truth are once again lobbying, the rights group wrote in the letter. The US Commission's goal is to prevent india from being placed in the 'Country of Particular Concern' category for the third time in a row. The group said it had received information that members of the commission were being pressured to remove the name of prime minister Narendra Modi from the report.
On Wednesday, indian External Affairs minister jaishankar convened a press conference in Washington. This time, he retaliated strongly against the US Secretary of State. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said, "We are looking into human rights violations in India.
Replying to this, jaishankar had said that anyone has the right to vote for us. But, we also have the right.
The American Commission wanted to put india on the red list on human rights issues. However, there was no consensus on this. China, Pakistan, and saudi arabia are on the red list for human rights.
