Airports should all be the same data-size and land large aircraft such as Boeing - jagan Mohan Reddy. The andhra pradesh government plans to set up airports in each district under the 'One airport for One District' scheme.

He has been implementing innovative projects since coming to power. He recently announced, however, that he was abandoning the project due to opposition to the three capitals project.

In this context, jagan mohan reddy plans to implement a plan to set up an airport for every district in Andhra Pradesh. He has urged the authorities to begin preparations for this.

Chief minister jagan mohan reddy has directed the authorities to get involved in the planning process for setting up an airport in each of the remaining districts. He told officials that all of these airports should be the same data-size and should be able to accommodate large planes like Boeing.

While work on creating 12 new districts in andhra pradesh is already underway, it is unclear whether airports will be built in the new districts as well.

He also directed the authorities to expedite the expansion of 6 airports that are already in operation. Due to delays in land acquisition, construction of the airport has been delayed for a year. GMR Group has been awarded a contract to establish a new Greenfield airport in the Bokapuram area of the Vizhiyanagaram district.

Similarly, jagan mohan reddy cancelled a contract signed by the previous telugu Desam regime to set up an airport in the Thakadarti area of the nellore district. However, no new tender has been issued.

It is worth noting that the Airports Authority of india has taken on the expansion of vijayawada airport and has completed the runway widening work.
