Karunanidhi's longtime PA Shanmuganathan passes away

Former chief minister late Karunanidhi's personal secretary Shanmuganathan in both journalistic and political circles had passed away in chennai today 21st december 2021. He was suffering from an illness and passed away in a private hospital in Chennai. He was admitted to the famous Kauvery hospital in chennai and died today due to illness. When he died, he was 80 years old. Late Shanmuganathan had joined as Karunanidhi's PA in the year 1969.

He joined as a secretary in an unofficial capacity. He is from thiruvarur like Karunanidhi. He had shifted his career after he was working in the secretariat. karunanidhi had spotted Shanmuganathan in a private event where he was taking some notes.
 
                            When karunanidhi was sworn in as minister in 1967, he asked for Shanmuganathan to join with him which was turned down later. This happened when the DMK government was formed. After Annadurai's demise in 1969, he got the official order from karunanidhi when he was sworn as Chief minister. He received the order to join as PA to the chief minister at that time. He accepted the official order and joined the karunanidhi team. It is said that he would never leave Karunanidhi's side during the fallout times also. After Karunanidhi's death, Shanmuganathan said that it is like a world with no sun.
