"We belong to the Malayali community (ST) community," Rohini, a student from Puliyampatti village near Thandarambattu, wrote in a plea to the Collector. We were unable to complete our studies since we were not provided with a caste certificate. In addition, there were no educational incentives available. If st issues a Malayali caste certificate, a path to higher education will open up. A total of 50 pupils are awaiting caste certificates. We must take steps to obtain a caste certificate as Malayali ST.
"We have 83 personnel in the Trincomalee Union," the workforce of the Trincomalee Union dengue and Corona Eradication Field wrote in a petition to the Collector. Every day, we get paid Rs.326. For the months of September, October, and November, no payment was made. Three months of non-payment has had an impact on our families.
