As the Kosasthalai River flooded, chief minister MK stalin examined submerged flats in Chennai's manali New Town neighbourhood. Boondi Lake is one of Chennai's most important reservoirs, serving the city's drinking water needs. Heavy rains have lashed andhra pradesh for the previous 18 days, overflowing dams and releasing surplus floodwaters. The discharge of water from the Amballi Dam has raised the water level in the Boondi Lake. As of yesterday evening, the water level was 42 thousand cubic feet per second.

The supernatant is then discharged at a rate of 35,000 cubic feet per second from Boondi Lake. The manali Puthunagar Phase-1 and Phase-2 areas of the chennai Corporate entity Sand Zone are positioned all along banks of the Kosasthalai River in the shady spots of Amman Colony, Jennifer Colony, gandhi Colony, SL nagar, and the Mahalaxmi nagar slum area, including the Sadayankuppam Dark Colony, as it blends with the Kosasthalai River. Yesterday nightfall, areas were swamped.

A lot of people's homes were flooded, and a lot of stuff was damaged. The local police station and a government school were both flooded. As a result, 672 flood victims have been evacuated and are being housed in three relief camps. They are fed three times a day. Medical camps are being held, and those in need are receiving adequate treatment.
