French councilor election in Pondy - Despite rains People voted in large numbers
French councillors in puducherry waited patiently in the rain to cast their votes. After the polls shut in the evening, the votes will be counted. Five teams, led by Siva Pradeepa, Siva Thiru, David Chandal, and Nisha, contested, with three of them receiving votes and being elected as councillors.
French residents queued up at polling stations set up on the Alliance Francis school premises of the French Embassy. The registration took held in a separate polling booth set up in Karaikal. "Voting begins at 8 a.m. and continues until 6 p.m.," the French consulate stated when asked. In this election, 4,600 French nationals above the age of 18 are eligible to vote.
