CBI Files Chargesheet for those who Leaked Sensitive Information on Navy

The Navy is developing plans for a new submarine. Last August, a complaint was filed alleging that confidential documents were sold to private companies for millions of rupees. Officers currently serving in the Navy, as well as retired officers, were found to be implicated in the inquiry by the CBI. On september 2, cbi agents carried out raids in various districts of Delhi, Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam in connection with the investigation. The house of former naval officer Randeep Singh was raided for Rs 2.4 crore in undeclared cash.


CBI agents apprehended him as a result of this. Naval commander Ajit Kumar Pandey, who was involved in the affair, and retired Navy commander S.J. Singh, three directors of private firms, were detained based on the information he supplied. In a special court on Rose Avenue in Delhi, the cbi filed a charge sheet against the six yesterday.


For the indian military, the central government is pushing for indigenous manufacturing of defence equipment, such as guns and warplanes. Furthermore, the government is interested in logistics export. These are being implemented as part of the 'Made in India' programme of the indian government. In this context, India's Defense Procurement Council has cleared the purchase of military equipment worth Rs 7,965 crore made in the country as a whole.
