Attorney General Shanmugasundar argued on behalf of the State of
tamil Nadu in the case before the
chennai high court to gain the reservation.
ravi Varma Kumar, former Attorney General of the State of Karnataka, argued on behalf of the Proletarian People's Party, Vanniyar Sangam, and its affiliates, G. Masilamani, former Attorney General of the State of
tamil Nadu, AL Somayaji, BS Raman, Senior Advocates NL Raja, Om Prakash, and others.
They provided fantastic, comprehensive answers to all of the High Court's concerns about the termination of the Vanniyar reservation. If they are recognized and judged as such, it will serve as a precedent in situations involving reservations. However, only the pro-government position will be considered; the
high court has stated that it will not take any other arguments. On the one hand, the
chennai high court has revoked the Vanniyar reservation, claiming that the
government has failed to sufficiently address the issues presented by the court. What kind of justice is this, anyway?
The Vanni has never had easy access to social justice. We achieved social justice by going through it all, including multiple conflicts, casualties, imprisonment, and persecution. We are making reservations for more than just ourselves. At the national level, we have provided reservation to all groups, including Islamists, Arundhati, Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, and Tribes. Is it possible that we won't be able to retrieve our reservation?
