Chennai: Meat shops in chennai have been banned from operating on november 4. So there is a problem with buying meat on Diwali.

In the case of tamil Nadu, a significant number of people buy and cook meat on Diwali. The feast begins with the preparation of mutton and chicken broths for idli or dosa in the morning and continues till dinner.

Prohibition of the sale of meat

In this connection, in a statement issued by the Corporation of chennai, the Commissioner of the Corporation of chennai has ordered to close all the meat shops within the boundaries of the Metropolitan Corporation of chennai on the forthcoming Mahavir Nirvana Day 04.11.2021 (Thursday).

Accordingly, it is requested to keep the mutton, beef and poultry shops located in all the divisions 49 to 63 under Zone 5 closed on 04.11.2021 (Thursday).

The sale of processed meats in supermarkets is prohibited.

At the Super Markets

The chennai Corporation has banned the operation of butcher shops and stalls in chennai on november 4 on the eve of Mahavir Nirvana and has also banned the sale of processed meat in supermarkets, making it impossible to buy any kind of meat.

It looks like people will have to buy the meat on wednesday and use it the next day. Authorities have been monitoring the shops for violating the order and taking action in case of violation.

Mahavir Nirvana

The day on which the Mahavira attains Nirvana is the day on which he attains Moksha. Not only this year but in recent times it has been customary to order the closure of meat shops in tamil Nadu on that day every year. But the order to close meat shops on diwali this year has been issued and many people can feel a little different.

Details

Significant people in tamil Nadu can be seen lamenting not knowing why this ban is because not everyone knows all about who the Mahavira was and why he preached non-killing.

There is an expectation that awareness will arise if the government gives a proper explanation and issues a statement in this regard.

Meanwhile, Mannargudi DMK MLA, DRP raja posted on twitter that all the meat shops in Mannargudi will be opened on 4.11.21 on diwali morning.
