A draught set of standards for child safety on two-wheelers has been released. The Motor vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019 has revised Section 129 of the Motor vehicles Act, 09.08.2019, to clarify the rules to be followed when travelling with children on motorbikes. The national govt can take steps to protect children under the age of four who ride motorcycles, according to the basic rule in this article.
1) A safety saddle will be utilised to connect youngsters under the age of four who are riding a two-wheeler with a motorcycle driver.
2) The driver should ensure that children in the back seat who are between the ages of 9 months and 4 years old are wearing helmets. Helmets with PIS-recommended features should be worn.
3) A motorcycle transporting a youngster under the age of four should not exceed 40 kilometres per hour.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways says so.
